Testimonials
From Friends Life: Thank you so much for your kind gift of a treadmill for our Friends to use in our day program. Friends Life’s mission is to love our adult Friends with developmental disabilities and to support them in fulfilling their God-given potential as they explore, enjoy and contribute to our community and as we experience Friends Life together. The program focuses on three main components, life-long learning, health and wellness and vocational training. The treadmill enhances our health and wellness component, providing our Friends with more opportunities to exercise when they have free time and in their exercise routines.
Sports 4 All has been instrumental to our Friends in teaching them how to live healthy lifestyles through Project HEALTH. The treadmill is a perfect complement to the activities and knowledge learned in Project HEALTH. Our Friends are proud of their accomplishments in health and wellness and can set goals for themselves by using the gym at Friends Life, which includes the treadmill given to us by Sports 4 All. Many of our Friends truly benefit from regular exercise and since they are at Friends Life on a regular basis, it is perfect having equipment that they can use.
Again, thank you for your generous donation. It has already served as a great tool for our Friends to live healthier, more active lifestyles and will continue to do that, especially as the weather gets cooler and we are not able to walk outside.
From The King’s Daughters’ School: Thank you for so generously providing our students with snowboarding helmets. These helmets were recently used at the 2013 Special Olympic Winter Games in Ober Gatlinburg on January 27-29. This is an annual event for The King’s Daughters’ School, so the helmets will be used for many years to come! Again, We cannot thank you enough for the remarkable service that you offer to nonprofits like ourselves.
From Orange Grove Center, Inc.: On behalf of the Recreation Department at Orange Grove Center I would like to thank you for your generous donation of two footballs to our Special Olympics Flag Football. The orange Grove Center is a private non-profit organization, serving adults and children with intellectual disabilities in the greater Chattanooga Area. Among the many opportunities our organization offers is recreation education and adaptive sports competition.
This was the founding year for our football team, the “OGC Crush,” and the footballs you provided us came into good use. We practiced three times a week for four weeks before we took our athletes to the East Tennessee Regional Special Olympics Flag Football Tournament in Knoxville, TN. Not only did we all learn the fundamentals of the game, but we also took advantage of the opportunity to enhance our endurance and physical conditioning. Most importantly, we had a BLAST!
I truly appreciate all your organization has done to assist individuals with disabilities in our area. Thank you for supporting our recreational opportunities. I look forward to working with you in the future.
